From Time Machine
This time lapse is of a test trench excavated during the summer of 2011 at the French site of Abri Blanchard. The site was previously excavated in the early 20th century, so our main goal here was to determine what areas had already been excavated and search for any material that remained in place. Unfortunately, in this trench we found little material that we think is in place. Instead, it looks as though the area was filled back in by the previous excavator and thus is a mix of unrecovered material, a variety of soils, and some limestone blocks that are part of the collapsed rockshelter.
